By Anika Berger, Founder of NikNak PR

Let’s get one thing straight: PR isn’t just for extroverts.
You might be surprised to hear me say that – especially if you’ve seen me at events, mic in hand, or floating around the room like I’ve had five double espressos. I know I can give off peak extrovert energy. But plot twist: I’m actually an introverted extrovert (hi, yes, we exist). I’ve got a solid networking mask, a decent stage presence, and plenty of confidence on cue – but wow, does my social battery deplete fast.
So yes, I run a PR agency. Yes, I love a good panel or pitch. But I also deeply get what it feels like to prefer the quiet approach. To want your work to speak louder than your voice. To be visible… without being loud.
In a world that feels like it rewards big personalities and even bigger noise, it’s easy to think PR is only for the naturally outspoken. But after 10+ years in the game, I can confidently say: the best PR doesn’t always come from the loudest in the room.
Sometimes, the quiet ones make the biggest impact.
Why Introverts Are Secretly Built for PR
1. You’re intentional with your words.
You’re not here to waffle. You get to the point. That makes for strong interviews, snappy op-eds, and memorable quotes journalists love. You don’t need to speak often – just with impact.
2. You listen before speaking.
This is a goldmine in media interviews and partnerships. By listening first, you can respond with thoughtfulness instead of noise. Media respects that – it feels fresh in a world of hot takes.
3. You build deep, meaningful relationships.
PR isn’t just press. It’s people. Introverts tend to build slower, deeper connections – which is fantastic for long-term brand reputation and media trust.
4. You value substance over spin.
No fluff? No problem. Introverts often lead with value and authenticity – the two things every brand should be built on.
So, if you’re nodding along thinking, Okay, maybe I don’t need to morph into a megaphone after all, you’re right. Being quietly confident is a vibe. And yes, it can still get you press, partnerships, and public visibility.
The key? Finding tools and tactics that align with how you naturally show up in the world.
And since we love working with startups at NikNak PR — especially founders still finding their voice — let’s get practical.
Here are a few simple but powerful ways introverted entrepreneurs can start to elevate their visibility… without the noise:
PR Tips for Introverted Entrepreneurs
1. Think digital-first.
You don’t need to be on a stage to share your voice. Thought leadership articles, LinkedIn posts, or podcast guest spots (recorded from your sofa!) can be brilliant low-pressure visibility tools.
2. Prep is your best friend.
Before any interview, pitch, or panel – PREPARE. Have your 2–3 key messages ready. Rehearse answers out loud. Confidence doesn’t come from volume, it comes from clarity.
3. Lean into your written voice.
If you’re better on paper than in person, use it. Strong bios, great captions, well-worded pitch emails, and blog posts can do so much heavy lifting for your visibility.
4. Let your brand do the talking.
If you don’t want to be the face of your business, that’s okay. Build a brand narrative that speaks clearly through your website, tone of voice, photography, and storytelling. Your brand can shine without you having to be “on” 24/7.
5. Collaborate smart.
You don’t have to do PR alone. Work with someone who understands your voice and can amplify it without changing it. (👋 That’s what we do at NikNak PR – and yes, we love a founder who prefers calm over chaos.)
Being introverted doesn’t mean being invisible. It just means you approach visibility with more care and that’s a superpower in today’s noisy world.
So here’s to the quietly powerful, the intentional communicators, the deep thinkers. PR is for you too.
